The New York Mets didn't just break their losing streak Tuesday night, they blew it up. Literally.

New York crushed six home runs in a 13-5 rout of the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field, with Pete Alonso and Francisco Alvarez each going deep twice. It was only the Mets' second win in their last 13 games, but it came in such explosive fashion that the stadium's pyrotechnics crew couldn't keep up.
Normally, a Mets home run triggers a brief fireworks display. But after the sixth blast, the scoreboard delivered a tongue-in-cheek update: "NO MORE PYRO. Due to too many Mets home runs, we have unfortunately run out of fireworks for the night. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Mets fans didn't seem too concerned about the "inconvenience." The team's dugout was buzzing, Alonso was grinning ear to ear, and even some Braves players cracked a smile at the rare scoreboard announcement.
The Mets still sit five games behind Philadelphia in the NL East and hold the third Wild Card spot, but if Tuesday is any indication, the bats might be heating back up at the right time. For one night, at least, the only thing that ran out was the fireworks.
"The home run was the 253rd of Alonso's career, moving him past a tie with franchise great Darryl Strawberry for the most in Mets history," wrote Jason Owens of Yahoo Sports. "Alonso broke the record in front of an appreciative Citi Field home crowd that celebrated the achievement with a standing ovation."
